What is forgiveness and why is so important according to Kabbalah? How it affects and changes our daily life?

According to Wikipedia, forgiveness defined as mental and / or spiritual process of ceasing to feel resentment, indignation or anger against another person for a perceived offense, difference or mistake. It is also ceasing to demand punishment or restitution.


Forgiveness is process of cleansing our memory from a negative life experience. Kabbalah explains, that “Reshimo” or impression from past records of life and unwelcome life experiences that have lain suppressed in our self- consciousness. Forgiveness is actually a great key to Freedom.  According to Kabbalah, forgiveness is one of the most important as well as basic techniques to encourage our spiritual growth.


It is a well known fact that many people are inclined to criticize and as well us to judge our fellow man. Kabbalah explains, that this only leads to a waste of a lot of energy trying to convince or blame others for their responsibility” in what went wrong in our past life experience.

Or maybe we feel that they owe us something.  The same energy that we extend in attempting to resolve external objectives could be successfully and easily turned into creating something new and positive in our lives. According to Kabbalah, this could be anything – giving a birth to a child or opening a new business.

These same words, actions and imagined offenses that our memories insist in keeping in our hearts, only succeeds in keeping us on a track of bad luck and negative life experiences through many years.


No matter whether your grievance applies to past guilt, real or imagined offences, there remains no need to continue you to wear your heart on your sleeve , but instead to develop your inner feelings and conquer those start misunderstanding that have kept you withdrawn form the World for so long.

Forgiveness it’s not only an act of courtesy or noblesse with long range psychological consequences, According to the Kabbalah it is also a “karmaticwork or act called a “Tikkun” which when translated means correction.

What is a meaning of forgiveness, according to Kabbalah? Forgiveness is an inner process which allows us to find balance with ourselves and with our environment.

The starting point of forgiveness begins with the thought of a need to forgive others. The more we think about it, consciously or subconsciously, our mind gradually takes over the matter. So at certain point in time, when we decide to make a positive act of forgiveness, in order to reach an inner peace and true freedom we have to know how to forgive.
