Angels
–
According to the Kabbalah, angels are spiritual powers, frequencies and channels that are used like messengers between the physical and metaphysical worlds.
Every angel has his own role. In Kabbalah tradition angels called “Omdim” (Standers) as opposed to human beings who are known as “Holchim” (Walkers) based on the theory that angels don’t have a way to change their nature whilst men do.
We find written in the Zohar - the main written work in Kabbalah tradition - (Kedoshim 16:108),
“.. And there is not even a blade of grass in the ground that does not have a supernal force upon it IN THE UPPER WORLDS. ..”
Later it is added “No grass, trees or vegetables grow without the supervision of the stars that stand over them and appear to them face-to-face, each one as is proper for it… There are some stars that serve the entire night, in order to cause all those things that are under their responsibility to sprout and grow… All these stars do not work for any reason and do not appear in vain.”

Angels, explains Ha-Ari in his profound discovery work of Kabbalah teachings, written by his student Rabbi Haim Vital, are created because of how we speak and what we do, if it is either for good or bad. Each angel connects us to a certain frequency. If this frequency will be either positive or negative is dependant on us, as according to Kabbalah.

Ha-Ari also explains that there are angels those names change because of their purpose,
There are those who came first and exist permanently and their names never change. Their level is higher than that of any others. (Shaar Ha-Psukim, Va-Yera, p.54)
The level of angels that we create depends mostly on the level of excitement that we invest in our life actions.
The first meeting between Magid from Mezritch and Baal Shem Tov (Great Kabbalist from 18th Century) is described this way:
“Here came a messenger from Baal Shem Tov and called a Magid to come to him as soon as possible. He went immediately. Baal Shem Tov received him in his room. “Do you know Kabbalah?” he asked. “Yes” replied Magid. Take this book “Tree of Life” open it and start to read.
Magid read: “Consider this”. “Do that”. “Interpret those”.
This way he interpreted the article considering the essence of angels.
“You don’t know” said Baal Shem Tov. “Stand up”.
He stood up. Baal Shem Tov stood up also and began to relate the article. As one all the people present in the room came up with fire in the eyes to Rabbi Dov Bar (Magid).
And he heard the sound of angels from a fire, until he lost control of his senses. When he came round from this vision, the room was exactly like it was before.
Baal Shem Tov stood there and said to him: Your interpretation is correct but you are unaware, because your knowledge is lacking a soul”
Ha-Ari clarified “know, each man has two angels that escort him, one on his right, one on his left. Indeed he is a righteous that who is on his right announces – Give an honor to the image (Teem) of G-d. And if he’s evil – that on his left announces – rebel against his teacher. And each night they lift up with a soul.
According to Kabbalah, when we call to an angel, we actually invite certain energy to connect with us. That’s why we should insure:
· That this frequency will be positive
· That we will be able to contain the energy we invite.
As we are unaware of what the exact power of each angel is, Kabbalah suggests not to pronounce their names but just scan them.
Ha-Ari explains there are four types or bands of angels: These are the Four angels that are said to be the secret of upper Merkabah, and they are the root of the four essences of life.
· Water,
· Fire,
· Air,
· Earth
From those four essences come:
· Michael,
· Gabriel,
· Oriel,
· Rafael
There are that are revealed in the secret of these four essences. And each of those included in the other as a known essence does.
